Student Chapter Events

Annual Events:

  • Career Night -The Student Chapter hosts this event each winter and it is open to the entire student body. It features a panel discussion with professionals in the water resources field and is followed by an informal networking and social hour. 
  • Annual Dinner/Silent Auction- Each year at the State Chapter's annual dinner, the Student Chapter hosts a Silent Auction with locally donated items. The money raised at this event is used to fund conference travel scholarships for student members and to support monthly club activities.
  • Water New Year Happy Hour - October 1st is the Water New Year, and this Student Chapter loves celebrating it! Each year we get together at one of Main Street's many restaurants to enjoy drinks and appetizers, and to get to know one another better.


Special Events:

  • Community Service Events - Each year, the Student Chapter participates in community service events like stormwater retrofitting, tree plantings, DNREC's Coastal Cleanup, and charity 5k runs to benefit watershed organizations.
  • Water Discussions - In recent years, the Student Chapter has chosen a water-related articles and current events and then we all get together to discuss it over food and drinks on Main Street. 


Monthly Meetings:

Every month, the Student Chapter hosts meetings and social hours for chapter members. At these meetings, we engage in lively discussions of current events and personal research in the world of water. We also encourage networking and civic engagement in the field of water resources.
